The 14. Queer Lion Award – collateral award of the 77th Venice International Film Festival, ideated in 2007 by Daniel N. Casagrande – has been awarded to The World to Come di Mona Fastvold (Usa).
Motivation:
Narrating the dramatic story of two women who discover their own identities, the movie idealizes, as the title suggests, a scenario of knowledge, independence from predefined roles and gender freedom, that will find its progressive fulfilling and affirmation only throughout the 20th Century
The jury – composed by Michele Gottardi (journalist and film critic), Giuseppe Amato (actor and director), Adriano Virone (cultural animator and activist), Jani Kuštrin (archivist, cultural operator) – chose the winner among the following 6 titles:

The Queer Lion Award will be handed out on Friday, September 11th, at 6:30PM, at Villa degli Autori, headquarter of Giornate degli Autori (Venice Days), Lungomare Marconi 56, Lido di Venezia; The World to Come director Mona Fastvold will collect it.
