The jurors of Queer Lion Award 2020 will meet in Lido di Venezia, in the afternoon of September 10th, to discuss and decide the best LGBT movie presented during the 77. International Venice Film Festival.

After watching all the movies submitted by the different selecting commissions, Queer Lion confirms that the following 6 titles are still in competition:

The World to Come by Mona Fastvold (Usa, 98’, 2020)
Und morgen die ganze Welt (And Tomorrow the Entire World) by Julia von Heinz (Germany, France, 101’, 2020)
Laila in Haifa by Amos Gitai (Israel, France, 99’, 2020)
Terrain by Lily Baldwin, Saschka Unseld, Kumar Atre (Usa, Germany, Switzerland, 45’, 2020)
Tengo miedo torero (My Tender Matador) di Rodrigo Sepúlveda (Chile, Argentina, Mexico, 93’, 2020)
Saint-Narcisse by Bruce LaBruce (Canada, Belgium, Luxembourg, 101’, 2020)

Given the marginality of LGBT themes and characters, Śniegu już nigdy nie będzie (Never Gonna Snow Again) by Małgorzata Szumowska, Michał Englert (Polonia, Germania, 113’, 2020), is therefore no longer competing for Queer Lion Award.

The Queer Lion trophy will be handed to the author and/or delegation of the winning movie – if in Venice – on Friday, September 11st.
