Few dualisms in the history of cinema have been as fascinating and debated as that which sees protagonists Al Pacino and Robert De Niro: the two sacred monsters of Hollywood are perhaps the most representative names of Hollywood in the last half century, two equally totemic careers destined to intersect few times and always create discussion.
Deciding who is the best between Robert De Niro and Al Pacino is not a feat for mere mortals and is perhaps something totally impossible in nature: the only real yardstick it can therefore be that of black on white, of prizes won on both sides.
Who brought home the most accolades, then, between Bob and Al? The competition actually sees Pacino ahead: if the Palmares di De Niro in fact it has two Oscars (his rival stops at one) and two Golden Globes, the protagonist of Scarface can boast 16 awards (an Oscar, 5 Globes of which one for Lifetime Achievement, 2 Emmys, a BAFTA, a Golden Lion and a Queer Lion in Venice, 2 Tony Awards, 2 Screen Actors Guild Award, 2 David di Donatello and a DGA Award for Best Direction of a Documentary for his Riccardo III – Un Uomo, un Re).
The balance therefore hangs on Pacino’s side also thanks to his participation in theatrical performances and products for the small screen: we are quite sure, however, that even the one deriving from the aforementioned awards cannot be anything other than a certainly partial judgment on the immensity of these two phenomena of the seventh art. Bob, however, has certainly beaten his colleague in a rather particular field: according to Sharon Stone, in fact, Robert De Niro is the actor who kisses best.
