The line-up of the 8 titles competing for the 18. Queer Lion Award is possible thanks to the direct and precious collaboration of the different selection committees of the Venice International Film Festival.
All films with a duration of 30 minutes or more, with relevant LGBT themes and characters, are eligible for the Queer Lion Award competition.

18. Queer Lion will be awarded by a jury composed by members of the Board of Queer Lion Association; Daniel N. Casagrande, journalist and film critic, member of the National Italian Film Critics Association, creator and founder of the award, President of Associazione QL; Marco Busato, contributor for Radio Capodistria; Jani Kuštrin, cultural operator; Adriano Virone, LGBTQ activist.
The QL staff in attendance in Venice Lido during the whole 81. Venice International Film Festival will also include Marco Visca and Alessio Bortolozzo (of Marco Visca Studio), in charge of the photo/video production.
Queer Lion Award winner will be crowned during the award ceremony of the Venice Inernational Film Critics’ Week, on Friday,September 6th, at 7PM (scheduled time to be confirmed 24 hours before the event), at Casa della Critica, via San Giovanni D’Acri 6, Lido di Venezia. Access to the ceremony is strictly by invitation.
