The Whale

The Whale
by Darren Aronofsky
(Usa, 117’, 2022)

Having abandoned his family for his gay lover, Charlie seems unable to process the grief after his death: recluded at home and devastated by pain and guilt, he started binge eating reaching 600 pounds. A light at the end of the tunnel may come from his attempt to reconcile with his long-estranged and severely unhappy 17-year-old daughter, thus discovering redemption and beauty in the most unexpected places.
